Each September, the river and iconic city landmarks are the stage as Brisbane Festival creates art that enlivens, delights and disrupts. The curated multi-arts program presents a bold international program transporting audiences beyond the everyday through captivating performances and installations from across the world. Brisbane Festival participates in global conversations. Brisbane is a city with boundless ambition, and the program celebrates this through collaborations, commissions and presentations.

Brisbane Airport Corporation has been a Major Partner of Brisbane Powerhouse since 2006. The partnership is founded on our joint commitment to support and engage with our local community. Together we support artists and cultural activities that help make South East Queensland one of the world’s great places to live, work and visit.

A signature feature of our partnership is bringing the World Press Photo exhibition to Brisbane each year. The World Press Photo exhibition is known for inspiring global audiences and connecting with local audiences across 45 countries. Through our partnership, Brisbane Airport Corporation and Brisbane Powerhouse proudly ensure Brisbane is one of only 100 cities worldwide to host the exhibition.

QAGOMA is one of Australia’s most visited, ambitious and dynamic galleries. Together the Queensland Art Gallery (QAG) and Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) are home to ever-changing exhibitions, immersive cultural experiences and a rich collection of art from diverse cultures across Australia and around the world. Located riverside across two architecturally-acclaimed buildings in the Queensland Cultural Centre, QAGOMA is a short walk from the city and adjacent to South Bank and welcomes visitors of all ages, interests and abilities. 

As the state’s flagship theatre company, Queensland Theatre has been fortunate to work with Brisbane Airport Corporation across a range of programs throughout our 16 years of partnership.  From supporting career development through the Emerging Artist program, to high school drama education and the Artist in Residence program, and most recently the renovation of the Bille Brown Theatre — the Company’s first home theatre and Brisbane’s only corner stage — through sponsorship of the courtyard. Used year-round by artists, Company staff and audiences, the Brisbane Airport Courtyard at Queensland Theatre balances style with function, boasting lush vertical garden walls and communal seating, and creating a seamless flow from the Box Office, to the bar, to under-the-stars socialising.

Australasian Dance Collective is one of the nation’s leading contemporary dance companies. Established in 1984 as Expressions Dance Company, the company has created over 175 works by 70 international and national choreographers. 
  
With an extraordinary ensemble of six dancers, the company has achieved significant recognition through national awards, including three Helpmann Awards and three Australian Dance Awards. 
    
We are defined by our commitment to excellence in both performance and sector development, contributing to the evolution and future of contemporary dance. Annually we create multiple new works, collaborate nationally and internationally and present performance seasons at major Australian venues including our presenting partner venue QPAC.

The Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) is Brisbane’s leading and most dynamic community orchestra and brings together up to 200 musicians a year to play a variety of orchestral music. Created in 2000, the BPO was founded on principles of musical excellence and development, communal participation, and organisational professionalism.

The BPO has a strong history of maintaining various community partnerships including with the Queensland Music Festival, 4MBS Festival of Classics, the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, Brisbane City Council, and The Brisbane Airport Corporation. These partnerships provide essential connections in artistic, educational, professional, and social programs and cater to the orchestra’s increased responsibility to culturally enhance localities and bring a diversity of people together to enrich Brisbane’s artistic scene.

Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra, has established itself as a chamber orchestra of national significance with an outstanding track record of artistic achievement. A Company-in-Residence at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), Camerata’s vision is to empower artists, inspire audiences, and enrich communities through music.

Performing without a conductor, the 19-member core ensemble and their guest artists proudly take full ownership of the music-making in the spirit of chamber music to form a thriving, refreshing and acclaimed voice. Under Artistic Director Brendan Joyce, the group undertakes an annual regional Queensland tour and a subscription concert season in both Brisbane and Toowoomba.

Camerata has a reputation for innovation and interesting and adventurous programming. Brisbane Airport Corporation’s support as a highly valued Program Partner enables Camerata’s ambitious vision to grow audiences 25 percent annually for its mainstage season performed at QPAC. With BAC support, this bold plan has been achieved annually since 2015 and in 2019, 52,000 Queenslanders accessed Camerata's high-quality artistic experiences.

As Australia’s oldest professional theatre company, La Boite Theatre has been energising artists and audiences for almost 100 years. During this time, the Company has been a time capsule for the Australian voice along with other small national companies like La Mama, Darlinghurst Theatre, Griffin, and Australian Plays Transform. Working on the lands of the Jagera and Turrbul people, our vision is to re-birth the new Australian voice over the next hundred years to be the country’s most diverse theatre company. We strive to develop and profile new voices and artists, and share stories that promote cultural equity, social improvement, and interrogate moral and spiritual values and individual and collective responsibility.  
 
La Boite plays a crucial role in the local, state, and national arts sector as an incubator and producer of new work, with a dedicated focus on the sustainability of Queensland-based arts practice from emerging to established practitioners, producers, and arts leaders. In the past, and more critically in the future, La Boite interrogates the boundaries of theatre, creating pathways for local and national artists to mainstream stages in Brisbane and beyond.

Museum of Brisbane brings our city’s vibrant art, culture and history to life through our exhibitions, workshops, tours, talks and children’s activities.

Located in City Hall, the Museum is part of the living history of the city, examining how Brisbane and its people change over time and how our individual and collective stories reveal our character and create our identity. We are also the keeper of City Hall’s rich heritage, and visitors can experience a bird’s eye view of Brisbane from the top of the iconic Clock Tower on one of our popular tours, as well as learn the stories behind City Hall during an insider’s tour of the 90-year-old building.

Museum of Brisbane is an avid supporter of the city’s artists, designers and artisans. We are dedicated to transforming their artistic vision into a stunning reality through our exhibitions and artist-in-residence programs. The work of Brisbane’s artists, designers and chefs can also be found at the Museum Shop which stocks a bespoke range of jewellery, fashion accessories, homewares, design objects, books, artworks and gourmet food products.

Established in 1981, Opera Queensland delivers a diverse, complex and accessible program of opera and related activities.  

Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2021, Opera Queensland has been central to the evolution of the art form in Queensland, nurturing the careers of some of the country’s most renowned artists, including Kate Miller-Heidke, Jacqueline Dark, Kiandra Howarth, Hyeseoung Kwon and Kanen Breen. 

Under the direction of Artistic Director and CEO Patrick Nolan since 2017, Opera Queensland is committed to celebrating the inherent strengths of the canon, actively engaging artists of the highest calibre to develop and reinvigorate the art form through a contemporary lens. Celebrating and  interrogating the extraordinary energy that opera creates, Nolan’s programming features a balanced repertoire of Classic, Contemporary and Future works. 

Serving Australia’s most decentralised state, Opera Queensland connects with regional and remote centres through a rich array of performances, education activities and community programs.  Our annual program serves our audiences from first time opera goers, primary and secondary school children, First Nations communities, people with disability to diehard supporters, passionate about the power of opera to transform the way we understand ourselves and each other. 

In 2019, Opera Queensland reached an audience of 254,524 through 183 events including 16 main stage performances.
 

Queensland Ballet is a vibrant, creative company which connects people and dance across Queensland. We have been working together in partnership with Brisbane Airport Corporation since 2015, enabling us to bring the wonder of ballet to people all over Queensland and Australia. We are dedicated to the pursuit of artistic excellence and innovation, and our relationship with Brisbane Airport Corporation helps us realise our vision and continually reach for the world stage.

QMF is a creative placemaking initiative established by the Queensland Government in 1999. Originally intended to deliver a state-wide biennial music festival (The Queensland Music Festival), the organisation’s remit has evolved to incorporate a varied array of strategic music programs that promote the artistic, economic, social and cultural development of Queensland communities. In their 20-year history, they have engaged with over 1 million people across over 100 Queensland cities and towns, and in the wake of COVID-19’s fragmentation of our social fabric, their work remains more relevant than ever.  

Brisbane Airport Corporation has been a major supporter of QMF’s Brisbane program for over 13 years, helping to foster a vibrant arts sector in the city through the support of large-scale signature events such as Help is on it’s Way, You’re The Voice, Keys to the City and the World’s Biggest Orchestra.
 

As an arts leader and great Australian orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra is renowned for its high quality, breathtaking performances of both classical and modern compositions that engage audiences of diverse musical tastes, interests and ages. As one of the largest performing arts company in Queensland and the state’s only professional symphony orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra plays a vital role in Queensland’s cultural community, educating; mentoring aspiring performers; touring regional centres; broadcasting and performing with state, national and international ballet and opera companies.

Each year the Orchestra attracts the world’s best conductors and soloists as part of its acclaimed concert season, in addition to presenting unique blockbuster events. Queensland Symphony Orchestra is passionate about commissioning innovative new programs and Australian works and continues to invest in collaborations, recordings and digital initiatives.

Queensland Symphony Orchestra has enjoyed a close partnership with Brisbane Airport Corporation for many years and more recently their support of the Young Instrumentalist Prize.

What started as a candlelight march in support of refugees and asylum seekers in 2007 has grown to become Queensland’s largest welcoming event at South Bank.

LUMINOUS celebrates the cultural diversity of our local community with food and performances from around the world.

The event will provide many opportunities for Queenslanders from multicultural communities to share stories of their cultures and traditions, and for the broader community to make meaningful connections with Queenslanders from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
