Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors and visitors across our operations, particularly those involved in activities that may impact the safety of aircraft operations.
Workplace Health and Safety for Contractors
BAC requires all contractors be registered to undertake work on airport.
Contractors need to be endorsed by a BAC Works Manager in order to be granted access to Beakon - BAC's contractor management system. To gain access to Beakon, please provide the following details to your BAC contact:
- Name of company
- Name of your nominated admin user
- Email address of your nominated admin user
- Phone number of your nominated admin user
Once granted access to Beakon, contractors will be able to apply for:
Works approval
The approval granted to a contractor company when they are engaged by BAC under a contract (or other similar formal arrangement).
Notice of Risk Activity (NORA)
The individual approval granted each time a nominated high risk activity is performed.

Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP)
The Civil Aviation Safety Regulation (CASR) Part 99 Drug and Alcohol Management Plans and Testing came into effect on 23 March 2009. This legislation applies to all those that undertake Safety Sensitive Aviation Activities (SSAA) and / or those required to work airside at Brisbane Airport.
Any Brisbane Airport engaged contractor performing such activities in a SSAA must comply with the Brisbane Airport Drug and Alcohol Management Plan unless otherwise advised.

Security
Security at Australian airports is governed by the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004 (ATSA) and Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005 (ATSR), both of which are intended to strengthen Australia’s aviation transport security systems. Brisbane Airport Corporation work in partnership with all other organisations at Brisbane Airport to ensure the protection of the airport environment and all who use it.
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) monitoring is in place across Brisbane Airport, and is compliant with National Security Standards. Brisbane Airport Corporation records information for its own operations which includes managing aviation safety and security. Download the fact sheet below.
