If you’re picking up a passenger from the Airport and their flight is late or you’ve arrived too early - there’s no need to drive in circles around the airport precinct to bide time.
We recommend you wait in one of the following places, before returning to the pick up area once you know that they’ve arrived:
Domestic Terminal Waiting Area
If you're picking up a passenger from the Domestic Terminal, the first 30 mins of ParkShort will be free of charge. You will find ParkShort at level 2 of the P1 car park.
BNE Service Centre
The BNE Service Centre is a short drive from the International and Domestic Terminals and has everything you need to refuel and refresh. Located just off Moreton Drive, you’ll find services around the clock, including a 24-hour Shell Coles Express and a 24-hour McDonald’s. You can also have your car serviced at Ultra Tune. Once they’ve called to advise their arrival you can safely turn around and return to the pick-up and drop-off zone.

Kingsford Smith Memorial
For a quick lesson in aviation history, pay a visit to the Kingsford Smith Memorial. This museum is dedicated to the early Australian aviator, who was best known for making the first trans-Pacific flight from the United States to Australia, the first non-stop crossing of the Australian mainland and the first flight between Australia and New Zealand. Inside you’ll find the preserved “Southern Cross” aeroplane, which Kingsford Smith used for the trans-Tasman flight on display. If you have time to spare, take a self-guided tour of the information boards. Once your passenger has arrived you can turn around at the roundabout on Airport Drive to return to the pick-up and drop-off zone at either Terminal.

Skygate
You’ll find Skygate less than five kilometres from Brisbane Airport - packing a powerful punch of 147 fashion and lifestyle brands alongside a selection of restaurants, cafes and Queensland’s only 24-hour Woolworths supermarket. If you’ve got time to spare, why not do your grocery shopping while you’re waiting for your guest to call to say they’ve arrived. From Skygate you can return to both Terminals via Airport Drive.
